Oh my, I wasnt' going to jump in on this but........

1.  Att is the ONLY unionized long distance carrier in the USA.  WALD is not
unionized.  Those who don't think this matters should try working for both --
there is a difference.

2.  A friend of mine invested her small nest egg in Working Assets and lost
half of it.

3.  ATT and other Bell Operating companies claim to be 'green' or to recycle.
 Those of you who believe this should check this out a little more carefully.
 At NYNEX, they have these big blue recycling bins all over the place, and
when unionized cleaners cleaned, the recycling happened.  Now, the company
has eliminated all the unionized cleaners and they use outside contract
cleaners.  The outside contractors combine the trash from the recycle bins
and the trash from the regular bins and throw them all out together.  So much
for recycling.  To my knowledge, all of the Long Distance carriers, including
ATT, and all the BOCs also now use contract labor to clean and, to the best
of my knowledge, none of them recycle.
