[PEN-L:2420] Re: The V-word

I certainly appreciate Mike's interest, but don't know if any one person
has the power to absolve any other person of anything. (Is this a critique
of the Catholic tradition of confession? ;-) )

I have therefore sent the requested information directly to Mike. Others
are of course welcome to inquire and I will be happy to respond. If I
receive a flood of requests (say, more than 2) I will respond to the net.

A warning: while I think the ideas in my dissertation are valuable, it is
really only a draft of a book; some of the conclusions require re-working
or further elaboration, and the basic theory requires further development
as well (which I am trying to work on when I'm not getting hit by cars or
teaching).

The primary value, I would say, is that it is a completely distinct
analytical perspective from anything else out there, all of which, I
believe, including eco-Marxism, is based on the neoclassical discourse of
externalities that focuses on market status. My work, as people might have
guessed, centers on understanding the relationship between capitalist class
exploitation and environmental degradation.
