I'll also give a report to Labor-L about the general strike in London. I'm
heading down with the Kingston delegation (4 buses) organized by OPSEU and
CUPE locals in Eastern Ontario. The delegation will be made up of about half
unionized workers and the rest are anti-poverty activists, students and
welfare recipients. We'll be walking picket lines first thing in the morning
and then will attend the rallies and marches.

It is worthwhile noting that the response we've been getting has been
excellent. Nobody interested in the fight against Harris has questioned the
suitability of a general strike. The example of the French working class in
the last few weeks has really inspired people. My contact with London also
suggests that organizing is quite solid on the ground.
