[PEN-L:1816] Re: Enjoying women fight to the death

Louis: Actually, when Ellen Meiksins Wood was in NY a month ago for a
seminar at the Brecht Forum in NY on "Capitalism vs Democracy", I met her
at a reception on the Upper West Side. I told her that I wanted to start
an Ellen Meiksins Wood fan club, with badges and secret handshakes and
everything. The fan club would issue a challenge to Hillary Wainwright, a
"retreat from class" thinker par excellence, for a debate in a steel cage
in Madison Square Garden. Wood couldn't stop laughing. If somebody knows
Wainwright's e-mail address, I'll get in touch with her and she what she
thinks. By the way, I'm only speaking as a "fellow" PEN-L'er, whom Jerry
directed his remarks to. But I thought women were on this list as well? If
they allow crude smart-alecks like me, surely they allow females. Is
Jerry interested in their opinion as well?
