[PEN-L:5211] abolishing AID & USIA
- Subject: [PEN-L:5211] abolishing AID & USIA
- From: naiman@xxxxxxx (Robert Naiman)

Apparently some of the right-wing Repubs in Congress have set out
to abolish AID & USIA. Clinton has promised to veto. I doubt that they're
going to pull it off -- they always wimp out when it comes to the real
stuff, but still: wouldn't it be neat if a coalition of left organizations
took advantage of the opportunity to issue a call for the abolition of all
foreign aid? Food First came around to such a position some time ago.
