Neither did the Mahatma; there has been a lot of scholarship on his role in
demobilizing protests. See for examples the articles by Gyan Pandey and
Shahid Amin in Selected Subaltern Studies, ed. Ranajit Guha and Gayatri
Spivak. (Oxford Press). Those two articles are also the least marred by
poststructuralist nonsense.
