In a recent Dollars and Sense, there was mention of tax exepnditures in CAL
of $19B and a total budget of $41B. Does anyone have a ballpark est. of the
total size of the welfare budget, and/or education budget (K-12, Higher)?
I am giving a talk on Wed afternoon and these numbers would help me drive home
a point on "wealthfare".
