                PETITION AGAINST THE CONTRACT "ON" AMERICA

        To all elected Officials,

        We, the undersigned, strongly oppose the Contract "On" America.
We realize that exit polls prove less than 5% of Americans said the
contract even "influenced their vote" in the last election.  A contract
we did not consent to is not a Contract "With" America, it is a Contract
"On" America.
        We urge you, our elected officials, to vote against the Contract
and any other related attacks on the poor, students, women, people of
color, immigrants, gays, lesbians and bisexuals, children, workers,
senior citizens, the environment, the disabled, in short, the vast
majority of Americans.  We urge you, instead, to vote for progressive
change that will produce social and economic justice for all Americans.
