[OPE-L] Allin: An Appreciation

Excuse me, Gary and others, but I would be remiss if I did not
write the following.

I wish to offer my most sincere appreciation to Allin for all
of the effort that he has put into the administration of the list
over a period of many years.  I don't think that listmembers appreciate
the scale of his participation: for instance, there were many
occasions in which he received over 30 messages per day off-list
in connection with AC decision-making. He was also undeservedly the
subject of off-list abuse and accusations. Participating on the AC was
truly more than he had bargained for when he agreed to serve, but
serve he did.  I wish I could tell you more about the extent to which
Allin has assisted the list. And, in addition, he has served as
maintainer of the OPE-L Archives at the ricardo serve - surely a
thankless job.  If we had such a medal, I would gladly and
unhestitatingly nominate him for the "Order of the Hero of the
Outline on Political Economy List" medal.

I will miss his advice and counsel enormously but I continue to
highly value him as a comrade.
