I agree with Fred entirely. What kind of the concept of justice do we apply here?
Or do we have some equals and more equals on the list? We should solve this problem fundamentally.
The first step was Ajit's resignation. The second step is that Rakesh replies to Ajit's charges. And finito!

Why not? Ajit has made serious charges against Rakesh on-list. 
In all fairness, Rakesh should be allowed to respond on-list.
