I am trying to get an understanding of it.
Ranagankayammas book is a critical review of Ambedkars publications on the
question, Ambedkar attempts to explain Sati in the terms I mentioned. From: Hi Paul C: A few days ago you asked about the tradition
of Sati ("widow immolation") and now are asking about the condition of
dalits ("outcastes"). But, wasn't sati primarily an
upper-caste tradition? I don't really grasp yet what you are trying to comprehend.
What is the context for your recent questions on caste? In solidarity, Jerry > Why have
the political measures – special representation in parliament etc, failed
to uplift the dalits? |
