Hi Jurriaan,

He also had this to say:

" ... the wages of superintendence do not enter [into the] average rate
of profit at all" (_Theories of Surplus Value_, III, Progress ed.,
p. 505).

Had those wages represented a portion of variable capital (which is
another way of saying, had superientendence labor been productive of
surplus value) then they would have entered into the average rate of
profit.
