Hi Ian, I agree that it is time to take a break from our discussion, which I have enjoyed and benefitted from. I look forward to further discussions in the future. To be clear, I am not saying that you should not be doing what you are doing. I think what you are doing is interesting and perhaps important, and I look forward to your results. I am just saying what you are doing has no bearing on the validity or logical consistency of Marx's theory, because Marx's theory is based on a different logical method from Bortkiewicz's theory. "Bortkiewicz's special case" is a special case of Bortkiewicz's theory, not of Marx's theory. Comradely, Fred
