Reminds me of the old joke that went this way: there was a community which recognised that there really was a limited number of jokes, so they decided to number them so they wouldn't have to go through the trouble of reciting them. So, an outsider is visiting and someone gets up and says, '7' and everyone cracks up laughing. The outsider asks, but why are you laughing? 'His delivery is hilarious'.
