I discovered yesterday that listserv had involuntarily unsubscribed
NINE members! I don't know when this happened since the protocol
of listserv no longer notifies 'owners' when there are unsubscriptions.
Those who were unsubscribed by listserv without requesting it have now
been re-subscribed. In the future please follow the following
guidelines:
a) if you don't receive list mailings, go to our archives at
http://ricardo.ecn.wfu.edu/~cottrell/ope/archive to see if there
have been any mailings that you didn't receive. If the answer is
"yes", contact me off-list.
b) [as an alternative to a)] if you are not sure of your subscription
status, send a message to listserv@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx which reads
(only) REVIEW OPE-L. If listserv sends you the "REVIEW
OPE-L" sheet, then you know you are subscribed. If listserv
responds by sending you a message that you are not a subscriber
to OPE-L, send me a message off-list and I will take care of it.
If listserv indicates in the "REVIEW OPE-L" that you _are_ a subscriber
but you _still_ aren't receiving postings, send a message to
listserv@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx which reads (only) SET OPE-L MAIL
c) if you want to unsubscribe, please contact me off-list so that I know
that's what you want.
d) if you want temporarily not to receive postings, do _not_ send an
unsubscription command to listserv. Instead, send a message to
listserv@sus,csuchico which reads (only) SET OPE-L NoMail
(When you then wish to resume receiving postings, send a
SET OPE-L MAIL message to listserv.)
btw, we have never involuntarily removed any subscriber in list
history -- over 8 years(very few Internet lists can make this claim.
If you have any questions about the above, please contact me off-list
at Gerald_A_Levy@xxxxxxx and/or glevy@xxxxxxxxx
Please save this message for future reference.
