The Advisory Committee and Jerry agree that: 1. We re-affirm our support for open archives for the list. 2. We believe that the existing archives policy has worked well in that it has both made available our archives to the public and has worked to ensure that what listmembers write is not quoted outside of the list. 3. If anyone on the list discovers violations of our archives policy then it should be reported to Jerry and/or Allin who will then decide, possibly in consultation with the rest of the Advisory Committee, what remedial action to take. 4. We re-affirm our commitment to open, free, and uncensored discussions. 5. We re-affirm the list policy against flames and ask that all members communicate with each other on-list in a respectful and comradely way. 6. We do not support the call for a duplicate, parallel list with closed archives. We don't think it is needed at this time and it would require a lot of time and effort to set-up and administer. 7. We thank all of those on the list who have communicated your thoughts on this question to the AC and Jerry. We took all of your concerns very seriously in our discussions.
