Yes, the unexpected (but hoped-for) participant showed up also the
following day (after Patrick's report), too. I am incredibly busy,
preparing to race back to Caracas tomorrow. If I get a chance, I'll send a
note out with some impressions and a statement of solidarity with Cuba
signed by foreign participants. I didn't even get a chance to meet Diego
and Terrance. (Claudio wasn't there, and I'm not certain about Alejandro.)
I'll be interested in what others there have to say---- and, definitely,
Diego can tell about a very unexpected development in relation to the
unexpected participant!
        cheers,
         mike

Is there anything that the listmembers who attended the conference
(Samir, Paul Burkett, Allin, Diego, Claudio, Mike L, Stavros, Terry,
Fred, and Alejandro V.) can add -- or take issue with? Any other
unexpected and/or encouraging developments? Did any of you have an
opportunity to talk to the unexpected participant?

In solidarity, Jerry
