I agree. The historical opening is in the conflict between the means and
relations of production, not in the election of, or "movement" around Obama.
Obama is the attempt to recuperate the opening.
Or as Chris Rock put it, "George Bush made it hard for a white man to get
elected president."
Anybody who thought Obama had "FDR potential," being a "good neighbor" to
Latin America, supporting workers' struggles, etc. should re-think.
