Simple question:  Do you support the attempts to suppress the demonstrations
by the official, and non-official government forces?   Yes or no?  My answer
is no.
Anothe simple question:  During the US presidential campaign, police and
"posses" do attack a joint NARAL/NAACP demonstration in support of Obama.
Do you defend the the demonstrators?  My answer is yes.

Come on. Of course I don't support the government forces attempts to
suppress the demonstrators.  I think everyone should be able to protest
against anything that they want.  That does not mean that all protests are
progressive or we should give their demands uncritical support does it?  I
never said I don't support the protesters right to protest, that should be
self evident.

If you want to take a class analysis of what is happening then maybe one
could inquire into the class make up of the protesters (watch the videos are
they dressed like workers?) or the candidate that they want/think to have
won the election.  Not really sure if this has that much to do with the
global recession though, prolly does but not directly (maybe has to do with
it through US imperialist meddling).
 Look I simply think that there should be some on the left who understand
that it is not as simple as either you support the theocracy or you support
the protesters demand that Mousavi won.  Things are not very often that
straight forward.   I also don't understand why people insist on thinking
that the protesters want to overthrow the theocracy when most don't say
that.  We may want them to (so does the US ruling class though) but it does
not make it so.
