Been following this thread loosely. Would only add some factual
evidence: the marsupial fauna that existed in the Pampas were in part
contemporary of humans. This was their last performance in the play.
Other mammals came together with humans, including predators such as
cougars. But it would be senseless to deny that humans (whose
settlements sometimes include remains of marsupials) had their own part
in the ellimination of big marsupials here.
