Liberals do want Obama to conduct business as usual with Iran, agree to some
sort of agreement of the nuclear program, etc etc.  Some "moderates" in Iran
similarly are largely calling for an end to mass demonstrations and
"rioting" in the streets and for the problem to be resolved within framework
of the Islamic Republic.  Engagement, stabilization of relations and
eventually have Iran become another Egypt is the Obama plan for Iran.

Obviously socialists would never call the explosion of popular unrest in
Iran a "coup" and in any case would welcome it as the start of a protracted
2nd Iranian Revolution.
