Re: [Marxism] Evidence indicates vote (however it went) was ignored to create fake "landslide" for Khamenei-Ahmadinejad ticket

No one's hand is on Iran. All actors (the West, reformers, the clerics) are
*reacting* to the independent actions of Iranian people (versus manipulating
them). In Mexico large demonstrations, the Zapatistas, all these were
common. Iran was a throughly depoliticized society (and of course it is of
significant geopolitical interest).

But don't see how Iran is really that independent of a state today. It's
connected to the world market and the powers of the world engage with it
often. This isn't a manufactured revolt, this is the genuine eruption of
feelings of bitterness towards the Islamic republic bottled up by repression
for years. Regardless of how many women are in university it would be a
shame to not acknowledge the repression of women in Iran. This sort of
imperialist-feminism is often used as a pretext for wars of "liberation",
but in this case it is the oppressed themselves rising up--- not bombs being
dropped by B-52s.

I tend to share the optimism of let's say Alan Woods on this issue. If your
not on the side of the protesters your ultimate on the side of the
"Revolutionary" Guard. Let's see how this develops.
