Re: [Marxism] NY TImes bias on Iranian elections dissected by WSWS

Except the election was stolen. Anyone with a, let's see how they put it,
"a serious knowledge of Iranian society and politics", would notice the
results in Azerbaijan and the performance of the two minor candidates in
their home provinces and realize that even IF Ahmadinejad led, he surely did
not get a 2/3 majority. The tampering was obviously done to avoid a runoff.

And *"The Times".. *who calls *The New York Times*, "*The Times*",
especially in a publication that's international in focus?

Overall this is a silly analysis. If Ernest Mandel was alive today he would
have supported whole heartedly the protest movement in Iran. Regardless of
who won the election was charade from the start. If anything the western
media was too flowery about the "change" that the "moderate" Mousavi
would've brought. The politicization and movement that was sparked in Iran
as a result of the fraud this weekend is far bigger than any one
candidate--- it's a dress rehearsal for a real revolution.
