These distinctions between oil production and oil production defined
by profitability seems to me a distinction without a difference. In a
materialist sense, reserves that are terribly expensive to reach and
refine are part of this scenario of declining reserves. Shortages are
shortages. The dislocations they cause are going to going to be felt
no less severely because of this distinction.
