Re: [Marxism] North Korea's Real Crime

David (Nada) writes about the government's new fusion facility arguing it is
primarily NOT military: "This is why it's under DoE and not DoD
administration."

The "Department of Energy" is a euphemism. It is the nuclear bombs
department. That's what it does for a living. ALL US nuclear weapons
development and construction is done by the DOE. There is NO DoD nuclear
bomb development or fabrication, which considering the demonstrated capacity
of military "intelligence" is probably not a bad thing. The overwhelming
majority of the DoE's budget is for weapons research, development,
fabrication and facilities.

How useful it can be propagandistically NOT to call it the Department of
Nuclear Bombs but rather "of Energy" is perfectly illustrated by David's
confusion.

However, this is the reality (from Wikipedia):

"The United States Department of Energy (DOE) is a Cabinet-level department
of the United States government concerned with the United States' policies
regarding energy and safety in handling nuclear material. Its
responsibilities include the nation's nuclear weapons program, nuclear
reactor production for the United States Navy, energy conservation,
energy-related research, radioactive waste disposal, and domestic energy
production....

"In the United States, all nuclear weapons deployed by the United States
Department of Defense (DoD) are actually on loan to DoD from the DOE/NNSA,
which has federal responsibility for the design, testing and production of
all nuclear weapons."
