Re: [Marxism] Sherry Wolf on gay marriage and divorce--from the Democrats

Well, I do temporarily have *some* faith in it -- after all, since the
country has not fully devolved into outright tyranny, the system has to be
just and correct to some extent to maintain its legitimacy.
But I thought I was clear when saying, "While I don't for a minute believe
this is legal, it does prove the case that the law serves the ruling class.
Constitutional or not is a secondary consideration -- courts will twist
things any way they want to get a strongly desired outcome."
The key there is "strongly desired". In 2000, the ruling class strongly
desired Bush in office, and the SCOTUS didn't hesitate to craft a thoroughly
nutty ruling to put him there. But just because courts will break rules and
fly in the face of legal logic doesn't mean they do it all the time.
