Andrew Pollack writes: "So I guess not being democratic centralist means
never having to say your sorry for one of your members selling out a leader
of the working class. And anyway it wasn't just one member. The entire
Solidarity leadership, including those leading Labor Notes and TDU, betrayed
Ron Carey. And this was particularly scandalous as Ron was driven out of
office by a vengeful government/boss combination determined that there would
be no further victories like the one at UPS. And we're still paying the
price."
Let's see if we can get some things clear. The claim was originally this was
one article by one person. Now the claim is a generalized "selling out" of
Carey.
Starting with the TDU, my understanding is "those leading the TDU" have had
nothing to do with Solidarity since before Solidarity was founded. In other
words, the central people in TDU have not been members of Soli or its
predecessor organizations since the 1970s.
Second, "those leading Labor Notes." Do the persons involved not have names?
And what did they say/do/write that makes them traitors?
