I would say that Refounding Solidarity would constitute it's left
wing. You've written a good piece on what is wrong with their
theoretical orientation, which is to say, they believe in the type of
Leninism which this list has correctly critiqued.

Despite this, RS, along with the rest of Solidarity, continues to
promote the Green Party as practically the whole of Solidarity's
politics. That, and they were hostile to the National Assembly Against
the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan while continuing to carry United for
Peace and Justice's water, even though UfPJ was actively sabotaging
national demonstrations, from 2007 onward.

It still gives lip service to revolution and socialism, but from their
trade union work to everything else, there's nothing to indicate they
actually believe it. There's never any discussion of socialism
internally, at least as far as the email list or the internal
bulletins would indicate. I don't recall seeing anything along those
lines in Against the Current. If Solidarity didn't tell you it was a
revolutionary socialist organization, I don't see how anyone would get
the idea they were otherwise.

The summer school last year and the Chicago conference this year are
largely oriented towards groups who have a foot in the Democratic
Party (FRSO, LRNA, etc.). At the same time, they have continued to
resist calls from dual members of Solidarity and the SP to include the
SP in this process. According to the internal bulletin, the SP is too
left wing.

And that should really tell you something. If the Socialist Party of
the USA is on your left, your politics are pretty bad.
