think that the fourth international was formed SEVENTY YEARS AGO! I always
viewed marxism as dynamic forward looking. the questions around the SU and Cuba
are important but like Louis says when they become marxist litmus tests thats
when it breaks down. And aren't they getting a bit stale. I don't think the
ISO pushes the Silly State capitalist line about Cuba as vigorously as they
once did. i don't know if its because they are moving away from it
theoretically or because they know that it is too much baggage in recruitment
and Interantional Solidarity campaigns. I hope people that go to the Confrence
bring up the essentiality of regroupment on an anti-capitalist basis. Thats why
the greens Nader thing couldn't get out of the box IMO. it needs to be a
socialist regroupment poject. There will always be those Who hold idealogical
purity above all else and they will always remain small and irrelavant. Think
of the people that an organization of the
ISO, Solidarity and others would be able to pull in! it would certainly
re-invigorate me.
