Re: [Marxism] ISO's conference.
Woops, I sent this out mid-sentence!
The Cuban question is of importance to us because of Cuba's proximity and our
common enemy, the US ruling class. Clarity on this issue is vital. Do
revolutionaries call for the overthrow of the Fidel or now Raul or the Cuban
Communist Part? If the answere is yes, then one is making an error, so
fundamental, that equates pre 1990 Bulgaria or Romania to Cuba.
In the case of the ISO, their position on Cuba, one of their primary political
features, is hardly part of any "New Left" I can see aiding the US working
class.
As for the ISO and the new left it is supposed to be building...I don't see it.
They may be easy to work with, but I see them primarily interested in building
their own organization as their overall strategy. I like a lot of ISOers
personally. They may be big and flashy, but I see them as continually
underwhelming.
