The state-capitalist theory is garbage, and this is coming from a person who
is tremendously critical of the Castro regime.
Bureaucratic collectivist is still my term of choice, though I wouldn't say
that the surplus is given to the bureaucratic stratum.

The question is whether Cuba is the type of socialism we want to see in the
world, or whether it is not. The PSL seems to think it is a
model, the ISO to its credit remains loyal to a vision of "socialism from
below" and is right is trying to wrestle the legacy of socialism
from the legacy of the Soviet Union and its proxies.
