[Marxism] One State the Alternative to Two-State Solution

Coincidentally, I am writing a critique of that OneVoice poll. Ali
Abunimah's is here: http://electronicintifada.net/v2/article10497.shtml.

The guy who conducted the survey, one Dr. Colin Irwin, has an agenda of his
own. He has done this kind of thing before. If I understand it correctly,
his intention is to find the areas on which there is most agreement and then
formulate some kind of compromise. He claims a lot of credit for N Ireland,
although I'm not too clear on what his polls accomplished there.

I don't suspect his sampling or anything any more than I would any other
opinion poll, whoever commissioned it. His questions, although not entirely
satisfactory from my perspective, are more wide ranging, straightforward and
transparent than most. One of the interesting points that Eli neglected to
mention, although I think he captures much the same thing in drawing
attention to the 60% of Israelis finding withdrawal to the Green Line
'Unacceptable', is that 22% of Israelis and 26% of Palestinians consider a
two state 'solution' 'Unacceptable'. The 78% and 74% 'willing to accept'
comprise all those answering 'Essential', 'Desirable', Acceptable', and
'Tolerable'. OneVoice and Irwin doubtless spin the results to suit their
agenda, but I reckon there's still useful information to glean from the
poll.

In solidarity,
Harry
