Re: [Marxism] Mao Tse-Tung ...etc
Just to keep everything in proportion here. The events of 1917 and
1945 are now 92 years and 64 years behind us. It's as if, in 1965, we
were arguing about the escalating war in Vietnam or the crisis of
black nationalism but people wanted to argue about whether the
National Labor Union should have abandoned the labor party idea in
1873.
With all respects to the bones of our dead--and I am a historian with
lots of that respect--what was or wasn't happening in the former
Soviet Union has as little relevance for what we need to be doing and
planning now as did the divisions within the Chartist movement for
those people who were, in 1934, preparing to launch the CIO.
