But what is the alternative? A proletarian socialist movement is not
POSSIBLE because there is no actual class movement for this to be the most
advanced expression of.

Given that, what needs to be considered is NOT what the right kind of
movement is "for the long haul" but what sort of socialist or Marxist
organization/movement is *possible* under current realities.

The movement that is actually possible is a highly ideological one based
primarily in the radicalized intelligentsia.

This IS what the socialist movement in the United States has been like for a
half century or more. Let's stop BSing with a lot of voluntaristic schemes
that do not correspond to reality and instead try to understand what it is
that we have to work with and why it is that we have it.
