The problem Joaquin gets into here is the old "What's a Jew?" question.

At no point had the Zionists asked for this or that territory, would the
idea of "common
oppression" of sufficed, regardless of how democratic it was carried out.

The problem is that Jews were never "commonly oppressed"...it was quite
different and
didn't always amount to pogroms...or...any repression at all. That Jews in
*one area* with
extremely common cultural attributes...like speaking the same language, was
a rare occurrence.
 The facts of the matter reveal that French Jews were...well...French far
more than they were
"Jewish".

German Jews, half of whom were expelled from Germany was as much a crime
against
Jews from Germany as it was because *they were GERMANS*, thus a crime
against *other
Germans*. The same goes for their oppression and murder at the hands of
fellow Germans
after the Final Solution was conceived of. Additionally, while Germans of
Jewish decent were
German, Poland and Russia's Jews were mostly Yiddish speaking. I've written
here that I
considered THESE Jews to be of a distinct nationality in almost every way.
But that doesn't
make those German, or French Jews of the 'same people', at all.
