Re: [Marxism] Nepal Updates: Some "Creative Truth" from the "Left"
I didn't completely disagree with all your points until you make it seem
like the opposition to the Prime Minister exerting power on the army is an
attempt by
democratic forces to prevent a "Cambodian" incident.
This point is just laughable, there's nothing in the UCPN-M's ideology, or
their actions that makes it seem like they are anything but a progressive
force that
will push for modernization and development in Nepal, and an increase in the
standards of living for their mostly poor constituency through the
development of productive forces
Instead of being heroic defenders against a secretly planned genocide, isn't
it a lot more likely that the forces against the Maoists are using the
crisis for opportunist reasons,
to strengthen their own respective parties positions in the government and
also to defend and appease entrenched interests like the army and
landowners?
Is that a grand illusion of "creative truth"?
