It seems to me that the WHO as well as health authorities
are gambling that the swine flu is not likely to be very
lethal in the US; that conditions (living and working
conditions) that are specific to Mexico (and probably
other poorer countries) are responsible for it being
lethal there. In other words they are gambling that
the swine flu epidemic will turn out not to be such
a big deal as far as the US is concerned, regardless
of what the consequences might be for Mexico.
