Re: [Marxism] NY Times on thin ice




Unmentioned in that story is the current saga
concerning the Boston Globe, which the
NY Times back in 1993, and now which
has been attempting to bully the paper's
unions into making big concessions to
management by threatening to close
down the paper. Apparently, the
NY Times is now eager to sell
the Boston Globe, although just
a few years ago they had turned
down several offers for it, whose
would have been many times
what the paper would now
now likely to fetch in the
open market.

Meanwhile, management at the
Boston Globe has been eagerly
downsizing the paper's newsroom.
