[Marxism] Morales and Obama

I know this is going to attract a lot of flak, but does 
anyone else think that there is the beginnings of a 
similarit between the hidden and not-so-hidden racist 
motivations of rich white elites in the US and in Bolivia?

Morales (an Aymara) gets elected president in 2005 and 
there is an almost instantaneous outburst of protest from 
the Crucenos demanding indpendence, mainly because they 
were quite happy to participate in democracy so long as 
the indigenous peoples never got anywhere near power. The 
political movements of the Crucenos try really hard to 
appear as a reasonable, moderate opposition but the overt 
racism underlying what they do keeps bursting out as they 
try desperately to hang on to the levers of power - "Abajo 
Kollas negras de mierda! Sucre capital es blanco!" all 
over the walls and the Juventud Crucenoo as little more 
than a Brownshirt movement.

Obama gets into power and, driven by the same right-wing 
kind of media frenzy as further south, you get the 
'birthers' who want to see B.O.s birth certificate, which 
certainly wouldn't have been the case if he'd been white, 
you get the 'States' Righters' who are just a movement to 
pretend that the Republican party and the Conservatives 
weren't responsible for the economic collapse and that 
they have the right to demand that states get to be 
semi-autonomous on request and that it's all 'the Fed' and 
the 'Federal Government' that is dragging the US down, 
which they didn't give a crap about when it was the rich 
white frat boy Bush doing the dragging? 

Anyone?
