By referring to revolutions and socialism of the 21st century they
invariably mean the Latin American popular civil-society-led models and
while I'm not familiar with France I'm not sure how applicable those models
will be in the context of an entrenched, still-legitimate, post-industrial,
liberal democratic framework. Of course in the current reality that
suggestion isn't any more absurd than the idea of directly challenging and
overcoming the bourgeois state itself via an alternative structure or
authority. Time and experience will be the only real judge of the NPA and I
wish them the best of luck and look forward to learning from their successes
and failures.
