Re: [Marxism] thoughts of rejoicing on Easter Sunday
And the anomaly that was John Paul the First, who was adequately
disposed of with no loss of time.
Both, and particularly John XXIII, were children of the serious
attempt by French Catholic thinkers and priests, particularly Jesuits,
French Jesuits (which implies some differences with Jesuits from other
origins), to fairly compete with Communists for the working class.
There is a very good book by Rodolfo PuiggrÃs, an Argentinean Marxist,
on this issue. DonÂt think it has ever been translated into English,
however, nor do I know if it can be reached at any Marxist website. I
tend to doubt it. Puiggros joined Peronism without quitting Marxism in
1945.
