Just as tragic, about these water-health links, is that comrades in both 
the major world social movements - International Peoples Health Movement 
and the People's World Water Forum - haven't really yet started to 
connect the dots and bring their work into alignment.

South Africa may be the best case, because we have the finest health 
rights movement in the world, I reckon (Treatment Action Campaign, 
responsible for breaking intellectual property rights and Mbeki 
AIDS-denialism to get 700 000 people access to drugs that a decade ago 
cost $15,000/year) and one of the finest water movements, and all sorts 
of opportunities to work together. Different political traditions (one 
pro-ANC, the other anti-) and silo mentalities are just overwhelming, 
it's so sad...
