[Marxism] Fw: FOR A GENUINELY DEMOCRATIC WA SOCIALIST ALLIANCE! (1)

Dear Marxmailers,
The message below contains a brief introduction to
the next one (posted separately) concerning problems that the Western
Australian regional branch of the Socialist Alliance is experiencing with the
level of freedom of political discussion and debate within the Alliance.

In solidarity,

Graham Milner

Dear Peter,
There is no properly-functioning internal discussion loop in
Perth or WA. A skeleton loop still exists, with about fifteen subscribers.
There are apparently however, according to Sam Wainwright, Socialist Alliance
State Convenor in WA and member of the DSP, roughly a thousand contacts in the
State who receive the 'GLW' announcement email circular. The Alliance State
discussion loop in WA, which traces its origins back to the beginnings of SA
here, has been allowed to wither by the State Executive. That is why I moved
the motion to reactivate it. The rest of the story is self-explanatory from
the content of the earlier messages in my post to the 'GL' list, which I am
again posting separately.

In solidarity,

Graham Milner

dear graham,

did you mean to send that post about the discussion loop to the GLW list?

It took me a couple of times to work out what it was and it appears to be an
internal discussion in Perth.

If you did mean to send it, maybe you could send another note putting it in
context because it seems like one needs some background knowledge as to what
it's about in order to understand it. If you meant to send it to the list, i
think you were making a point about participation in Socialist Alliance. An
explanatory not would make it clearer.

If, on the other hand, you didn't mean to send it to the list, I can remove
it at your request.

Yours
Peter R
