As I understand it, Immanuel Wallerstein thinks that
capitalism is in a terminal and may be gone within
thirty or forty years. However, in his opinion it
is by no means a given that it will be replaced
by anything better. In fact its replacement may
be a whole lot worse, especially if there is
no movement in place to press for an
egalitarian alternative to capitalism.
