Re: [Marxism] Yesterday's protest: SF protest
A few thousand at best marched in SF. If Eli was there, he can give his
count. My count was less than 3,000. It was overwhelmingly members of
left and single issue cause organizations, in other words the more
activist end of SF's large left progressive community. Among those not
part of previous events or members of groups were a few hundred young
people from Bay Area community collages and high schools, all of whom
thought it was 'fantastic' (none could compare it with other events not
having been on any in the past).
Overall I'd say it was a rather dismal failure.
I think there is a huge amount of confusion of Obama's actions and
intentions. I think the problem is not with the groups organizing it but
a much deeper problem with how to confront the domestic and
international decay of imperialism.
