I could of course have made the exact same point without refering to the loaded
concept of the postmodern, but it was very apropos (socio-political discourse
as comedy/entertainment/commercial television show). It also had the advantage
of giving Mark the opportunity to display his "Marxist" bona fides by firing
off a knee-jerk reaction to the term.
