[Marxism] Renouncing marxism, I'm going with chope.

Ok, I give it all up, because apparently I'm totally wrong. Mr Obama
clued me in today.

It's not the 70% of our spending on healthcare that goes into overhead
and profit taking by insurance companies that is the root of our
healthcare crisis. It's the inefficiencies of our antiquated
paper-based offices! I should have known that, I'm a hacker after
all.

And silly me thinking that there was a structural crisis of capitalism
due to overproduction and stagnating profits in the "real economy" at
the core of our economic crisis. It's just that the banks are giving
responsible people loans! Apparently this will be overcome by the
tireless work our congressional and executive branch are putting into
shit-talking the bankers they already gave billions of dollars too.

They have a plan, and that plan is to ensure that our great nation has
a fighting chance of borrowing our way out of this recession!

We're gonna fight extremisms, and rise to the challenge of restoring
America to its rightful place as a respected Imperial power. Just
remember, every cruise missile we drop on some wedding in Central Asia
is a few million dollars of stimulus spending -- honor your neighbor
who guided the missile and the Predator drone into it's fiery ritual
of capital, and untermensch, destruction!

So in the face of this awe-inspiring revelation, what power does
Marxism have over my soul? What does it have to offer me but the sad
solace of mumbling, or after a few beers yelling, at the T.V. in the
bar? An occasional vacation to the country-side, where I can smoke
cigars and pretend I'm Che or Fidel in the mountains, preparing for a
revolution? Endless days and nights of organizing and political work?

You see, my tenacious clinging to "fact" was stopping me from being
open to the incredible power of Change and Hope. It was becoming a
social liability as well, particularly here in Chicago. What is fact
compared to the pragmatic political moves of a man who was able to
swing 3 whole votes for his stimulus package via his "charm
offensive"? It's the Chicago way, of course, you win when you lose
and you lose when you win. Shout out to my man Burris, may he die in
his senate seat 20 fucking years from now, BLAGO!

So that's it. Im done with Marxism. I'm gonna pick up a more
American pursuit, like apocolyptic christianity, but with a
Universalist/Unitarian feel -- I'm down with gays in my fallout
shelter. Fuck history, I'm going with the PBS mythology of the
American Century, putting my knoweldge of obscure U.S. foreign policy
to work by cultivating a cyber-gothic dystopic cultural nihilism. A
subtle blend that lets me carry on within existing social circles and
keep my job, but has enough of an edge that I can get some attention
from alienated petit-bourgeois women.

Change! Hope! Chope!
