[Marxism] In Defense of Nadya Suleman (or, Hetero Breeding Running Amok)

The Workers World article is typical of their Manichaean worldview.
Everything reduces to them or us, evil or good. So naturally this
pathetic woman smiling stupidly on TV interviews and apparently unaware
of how self-centered and idiotic her rampant breeding is, even if she
hopes to use surviving offspring as a cash cow at the public trough, is
just another poor victim of right-wing misogyny.
Whether or not the woman's family is truthful in declaring her
mentally impaired, it is the height of irresponsibility for her--and the
doctors who facilitated her two broods--to bring fourteen babies into
the world with no way of supporting them short of resorting to
taxpayers. Her behavior is unethical, immoral, and selfish. On a smaller
scale, she resembles the bankers feeding at the public trough. She is a
caricature of the prevailing hetero ideology of breeding as a positive
public good.
Heteros (and Workers World) ought to ask themselves why
out-of-control breeding is something they support. What has the world
come to when a woman chooses to live through her (way too many)
children? What kind of fulfilling life do they think her offspring (if
they survive) will have with such a mom? Would they be overjoyed to face
life as one of her kids? Why did the message of feminism fail to reach
her? Of course, increasing numbers of same-sexers are busy joining the
breeding cohort and aping the worst aspects of heterosexuality, of which
she is only an extreme example.

I personally think that the woman *is* nuts. In fact, her mother and
father have said this in television interviews. However, the WWP article
is correct in pointing out the reactionary character of the attack on
her, including from "radical" lawyer Ron Kuby who has ranted against her
for days on end on his Air America radio show.
