Well, without judging or even knowing the facts in this case, if you were an 
Israeli agent, and you knew your cousin, however far removed, was a radical 
Islamist, it would behoove you to keep track of what your cousin was doing, 
and/or (depending on your point of view) egg him on to do things the Israeli 
government would like him to do that he might not otherwise have done (i.e., to 
act as an agent provocateur).

Again, without the slightest implication as to the facts of *this* case, about 
which I know nothing.
