He correctly states that not all Marxists are socialists and vice
versa--makes sense because he (probably) isn't a Marxist. "His" magazine in
the "Democratic Left" by the way, do you contribute to something more
relevant to the labor movement?
"Power relations" means structural changes that democratize, its a good way
to explain what makes democratic socialism different than welfare capitalism
to people unfamilar
He "plays" down union support for socialism, because he saids that not all
people in unions support socialism. That's true-- the labor movement is
hardly a hub for anything more radical than social democracy at the moment?
You must live in an interesting bubble if your a Marxist in America and an
activist if you think any view (liberal, social democratic, etc) that isn't
Marxist is moronic.
What you rather him answer that socialism is a phase between capitalism and
communism, distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according
to work done? Would that make more sense to viewers?
